DOUG WHYTE, Producer/Director
Doug Whyte studied business at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1993. In 1995, Whyte began a career in film and worked on numerous independent feature films, including King of The Road, Amateur Hour and Stricken. In addition to his feature film work, Whyte has also worked on commercial productions for Nintendo, UPS, Comedy Central and Home and Garden Television. In 1998, after a year as the Program Coordinator of the Webster University Film Series, Whyte partnered with Thomas Grable for the research and production of Pushing Up Daisies: Undertaking In America (a CALOP grant recipient and CALOP award winner). This documentary about two eccentric, disparate funeral directors screened at many national film festivals and was picked up for worldwide distribution by Seventh Art Releasing in Los Angeles.
Currently, Whyte is the Director of Media Arts Programs for KDHX Community Media in St. Louis, Missouri where he is the founder of the International Documentary Challenge and the producer of the National Film Challenge.
BEN SCHOLLE, Editor
Ben Scholle is a full-time member of the Communications faculty at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. He holds an MFA in Film and Electronic Media from American University in Washington, DC. In addition to working on a number of broadcast, industrial, and independent projects, he has produced, directed, and edited two short films, Pottersville and Maryland 355. His first full-length documentary, Hairkutt, was completed in 2005.
